Meet Nat

Natalie (Nat) Newton, LMFT, PhD (CA)

they/she

Hello, I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in private practice and an anthropologist (PhD). I approach therapy as a form of "ethical listening" to feelings, dreams, thoughts, and anxieties. I work well with people of color, LGBTQs, and genderqueer people struggling with burn out and navigating career challenges.  Drawing from my previous career as an anthropologist and an activist, I sit humbly with clients as they navigate culture and systems of oppression. My certifications include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i) and Gottman Couples Therapy Level 1. From 2019-2023, I was in training as a clinical research psychoanalyst candidate at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles and Newport Psychoanalytic Institute. I’m Vietnamese American by heritage and grew up in the Little Saigon community in Orange County, California. In my spare time, I enjoy nature, freecycling, and reiki.
