Hello! My name is Melissa Erickson and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker practicing in Washington, DC. I use she/her pronouns and I am an Aquarius sun, Scorpio moon, and Aquarius rising. Lots of Aquarius energy with some deep intensity of emotional experience thanks to my Scorpio moon.
At my practice, Erickson Wellness, I provide trauma informed care to adult individuals,genderqueer adolescents, and some couples. My work primarily focuses on supporting folks in healing from attachment trauma and various forms of child abuse, but I also have a deep passion for supporting folks in various points of life transitions, as well as fellow members of the LGBTQIA+ community. As an Internal Family Systems practitioner, I aim to support clients in fostering curiosity for all parts of themselves in a nonjudgmental, supportive way. I strive to maintain an anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA+ affirming practice, which often begins with acknowledging and creating space to process our shared and differing relationships to power and privilege. I am honored to share space with other clinicians working to integrate our humanity more fully into our practices.
