After over 20 years of dependency on sleep meds, I’m happy to say that I’ve fully recovered from chronic insomnia and now specialize in helping others learn how to sleep and live well. I love helping people stop wasting their lives (or at least, quality of life) to insomnia. Anyone struggling with insomnia knows how hard it is to enjoy life to the fullest without good sleep. And improving sleep often leads to improvement in depression, anxiety and even PTSD symptoms. It is key to almost everything!
My background and training include:
• All things sleep, including:
o CBT-I (aka Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia – it’s not your usual CBT!)
o Sleep-related anxiety
o Nightmares
o Parasomnias
o Pediatric sleep
o Circadian rhythm issues and disorders o Shift Work Disorder
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Grief and loss
• Chronic illness and other disabilities
• Trauma
• Feminist therapy
• Mindful Self-Compassion
• Acceptance and Commitment therapy
As a multiply disabled therapist, I’m excited to be joining a collective that centers marginalized voices and experiences, while aiming to deconstruct and minimize the inherent power imbalance in therapeutic relationships. I look forward to the support and collective wisdom of the many KTC members.
