Hey there! I'm Laura Grossman. I'm an individual, couples, and group therapist (and dog mom) who proudly identifies as queer. My passion lies in helping individuals and couples navigate life's ups and downs, especially those who identify as queer and trans. My practice is grounded in compassion, respect, and a deep understanding of the intersecting challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community. I hold space for clients to navigate issues such as gender identity, sexual orientation, relationship dynamics, and self-acceptance. I find great pleasure in honoring the humanness in all of us. Whether that’s through recognizing the impact of oppression, the attempts we make to “feel better”, or being witness to all the messy parts that make up the self, the role of therapist is one that I hold with great care.
My identity as a white, queer, fat, class privileged, able-bodied, cisgender woman of Jewish and European heritage means that I will always be committed to ongoing learning regarding privilege, white supremacy, disability justice, and oppression. I do not believe therapy can ever be a space free from the impacts of oppression, but my involvement in the Kintsugi Therapist Collective is one of the ways in which I seek to continue learning, minimize harm, and embody my commitment to liberation for all.
