I've always wanted to understand and connect with people deeply, and this led me to my path as a social worker and public interest lawyer. Along the way, I've been on a journey of self discovery that has deepened my desire to strengthen connections with both others and myself. For over a decade, I've worked in the nonprofit sector, addressing inequities and systemic racism in our criminal justice system, as well as combating gender-based oppression and violence. Alongside my systems change work, I spent several years providing trauma-informed therapy to children and their families in the Bronx. I think of therapy not as a linear path, destination, or as a "fix" of any kind, but instead as a lifelong journey of self discovery.
As a nonbinary, neurodivergent and neuroqueer parent of multiple children born during the pandemic, I've seen the ways in which isolation and lack of societal supports can create daily struggles for parents. My goal is to support parents in addressing those daily struggles, so that they can continue on their path of self discovery, and better understand the shifts in identity that often come with parenthood. I'm always striving to create an affirming, warm, curious, and liberatory environment for all of my clients, including those who identify as LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent. I seek to walk alongside parents as they develop a better understanding of themselves, affirm parents' experiences with a broken support system, and help them craft supports that can address anxiety, stress, sensory sensitivities, and other daily struggles. I also seek to help parents deepen and build connections with supportive folks in their community.
I provide group coaching through a community care model, Care Collective, in which connections with other parents are an intentional part of the way we practice care for ourselves. These groups are for parents seeking community, connection, and support during intense seasons of parenting. I also practice individual therapy through Change of Mind Counseling, a group practice in NJ focused on perinatal mental health.
