Elizabeth Donahue, LICSW (MA)
she/her
Hi! I’m Elizabeth. I am a white, cis, Italian and Irish woman, a lover of the outdoors, a therapist, and a friend, partner, and daughter. I live in lovely, western Massachusetts. I have worked as a therapist, on and off, for the past fifteen years, slowly learning that I am the best therapist when I balance my indoor, sitting therapy work with outdoor, full body, physical work. This has looked pretty different over the years, but I now work part time in a college counseling center, while also starting a small private practice and doing part-time physical labor. I feel really lucky to get to work with so many curious and amazing people, and I know it is really a gift to get to witness and connect with people through this work. At the heart of my therapy practice is supporting people to more deeply listen to themselves, to tune into the wisdom their bodies hold, and to learn how to fiercely love and respect themselves in the midst of a world that can make that so darn difficult!
I am really excited to be joining this cohort because I have been wanting to find a way to have more community in this work and also looking for ways to stretch and grow in my own learning and understanding of myself as a therapist. As a person who deals with chronic illness, I was drawn to the idea of finding connection with other folks who may sometimes have bodies that struggle, and I’m excited to learn from the knowing that these bodies hold. I’m also looking forward to being surrounded by people who are eager to challenge the systems that taught us what therapy should look like and to explore how this work can liberate us and our clients.
