Hello! I’m Amy - a white, queer, culturally Jewish, cis woman, Licensed Marriage and Family therapist, and West Coast transplant based in Philadelphia. I am trained in Internal Family Systems (“parts work”) and EMDR and integrate these models to help clients process what keeps them stuck in the past and reconnect with themselves and their important others in the present. I work from a trauma-informed, relational lens with clients impacted by trauma, depression, anxiety, relational distress, and complex attachment experiences. Many of my clients come to therapy struggling to set boundaries, feeling overly responsible for others, and lacking a sturdy sense of self. With warmth and compassion, I support my clients to tune inward, confront these old patterns, and learn new ways of responding. Ultimately, I help clients shift from feeling trapped by their challenges to feeling more embodiment, agency, and groundedness from which to navigate them.
In my practice, I aim to create an antioppressive, liberatory space for clients to show up in their full humanity. I hold the impact of our social/political systems on our identities, experiences, and dynamics within therapy. I welcome clients in all of their identities, complexities, joys, and pain. I feel grateful to join in this healing work together.
Outside of my practice, I find delight in strong coffee, befriending any cat that will have me, and that suspended moment in the morning before the world begins to bump into you. I’m often traveling, practicing yoga, collaging, and leaving rambling voice messages to far-flung friends.
